A message from Cock Groenewegen-van der Geest
To all the Groenewegens
Dear Family
Abroad,
Today is 11th
May 2004 and we are having a small family reunion for the Groenewegen clan. This
is related to the visit of Joop and his sister Ida Groenewegen, alias
John and Ida Greenway, to Holland for a week to attend a big reunion of the Remmerswaal family, the family on
their mother's side
They thought it
would be a good opportunity to meet some of their cousins from their
father's side. Today, therefore, here we are together with a small
group to catch up on old memories. For my part I decided it would be a
nice idea to tell the other emigrants, from the family, about it and to
ask my guests to add a few words of their own for you.
I now hand you over to Mike Zoet.

I would
particularly like to address myself to Jan and Annie in the beautiful
country of Africa. Also to Joke and Nico in Australia. We are enjoying
catching up on all sorts of old family details. On a personal level we
are fortunately doing well. Our grandchildren have increased in number.
The youngest addition will be one in May. We have had a new address for
some time now: jomizo@tiscali.nl.
Hopefully we will soon be able to improve the contact. We wish everyone
who reads this, good health and hope they enjoy life!

Joop also has something to say. It is wonderful to see some of our
cousins again and to chew the cud. Of course it is not often that we
visit; it is 20 years since the last time. The other overseas branch is
missing but we hope to see them again sometime. We are all happy and in

Hi to everyone
who, like me, cannot write in Dutch. Ida sends her greetings to the
whole Groenewegen family. A special greeting from the Australian branch
of the family. We are having a really special afternoon for me, meeting
my family for the first time since I was 6. Although I cannot remember
them, I can feel that we are family. I have again taken the name of
Groenewegen and because it is so particularly difficult in Australia I
